Im so excited to start reading with you! I read the hobbit but never finished the fellowship (tom bombadill is were i stopped). I just found out you can read the fellowship for free with Kindle unlimited if you have it🥰
So beautifully written !! I have read the Hobbit, the Fellowship, and now I’m currently reading the two towers. I’m so obsessed with middle-earth, the woods, forests, mountains, rivers, and previously stuck in Helm’s Deep. Whenever I come back from the middle earth. Trees are so beautiful, nature is stunning. Today, I am to set out again with Frodo, Sam and Gollum towards the Teeth of Mordor!
I finished up the audiobook version of the Hobbit a couple of days ago and I’ve been anxious to share with you. It was a wonderful book! I love how much of the lore and backstory I understand now that I hadn’t quite understood before. I’ve already put Fellowship (read by Andy Serkis) on hold, but I don’t think it will be ready in time to begin the read-through.
I’m thinking a nice nature walk on Hobbit Day, with some trilogy action.
I am fresh back from a short trip to Birmingham to visit the various places where Tolkien lived so am ready, really ready, to read The Lord of the Rings once more!
This will be my second read through! I buddy read it with my husband years ago and I’m working on convincing him to at least listen through them with me this year, it’s a quest worthy of attempting together 😁
It looks like it falls on a Sunday this year, so I imagine after church my family will enjoy lots of food and lots of rest -- I'll have to plan a Hobbit-food sort of meal for us! If the weather is nice maybe it'll also be pull-out-the-dead-garden day... Samwise would be proud. 😁
Samwise would definitely be proud! That sounds like an absolutely lovely day. And keep an eye on this space, I usually share a post of our full Hobbit Day menus complete with links and recipes! I love that you're incorporating rest as part of yours ❤️

Thank you for your post Brianne. I am very excited for Bilbo’s birthday when we can once again start reading the Lord of the Rings!
Hello Breanne,
I finished The Hobbit a month ago. Last read it and TLOR in HS. Looking forward to it. About how much do you read in a week?
We host an annual Hobbit day every year complete with all the meals, a movie marathon, and our good friends. One of my favorite days of the year!

My kids and I have done lembas before but I would like to do other types of foods that are inspired by Lord of the rings. I have to look for recipes.
Excited for the read through this year! I started the Hobbit in preparation already 😆
Pre-gaming Tolkien with Tolkien. YES. I can't wait either! There's so many who are reading it for the first time this year 🥳
